The three star plus Hotel Kaktus Playa is situated in the hotel area of Calella and was renovated in 2000. It is not far from the beach and 10 minutes from the centre of Calella, with its many shops, pubs, disco's and restaurants.It disposes of a beautiful sandy beach and natural rocky coves one of which is the naturist beach of Calella. Over the last years the beaches of Calella received the European certification 'Blue Flag' for clean and well kept beaches. Any kind of water sport is offered but also beach volley, football, aerobics and a club for children. During night restaurants, bars, clubs and discos offer a wide range of entertainment.The promenades Garbi overlooking the sea is a nice walking path.

Location
The Promenade Passeig de Manuel Puigvert with its ancient plantain trees or the park Dalmau with lots of green spaces is ideal for a nice walk in the shadows of the old trees. Visiting Calella don't miss a stroll through the narrow streets, visit the Church of Santa Maria with its original baroque entrance. If you are interested in the history of Calella go to the Archive Museum which holds many historical documents refering to the development of Calella. Further points of interest is the lighthouse a landmark of Calella which is build on the same spot of a formerly watchtower that used to defend the city from attacks of pirats. Close by is the natural park of Montnegre. It offers many possibilities for walking or cycling and exploring the nature. During the year different festivals take place many of which on the Passeig de Manuel Puigvert. There are concerts, traditional Sardana dances, a big beer festival also called Oktoberfest. Worth a visit is the oldest Sardanaa Festival of Catalonia which takes place in Calella. Therefore Calella attracts many tourist and has become a tourist capital over the years.
