Havana Holidays

Typical 1950s cars Cuba's magnificent capital, Havana, is renowned for its Spanish colonial architecture, 1950s cars, wealth of museums and galleries, and pulsating Cuban beats. Holidays in Havana usually begin with a tour of the grand old quarter. La Habana Vieja was declared a World Heritage Site in 1982 and is home to a rich architectural heritage dating back five centuries.

Cayo CoCo Beach, Cuba A stroll through the narrow streets of La Habana Vieja will unveil pastel-coloured colonial houses, magnificent churches and palaces, a 16th-century fortress, pretty tree-lined squares, and a wealth of museums. Of particular interest is the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Museo de la Revolucion. A visit to Havana isn't complete with a tour of one of Havana's cigar factories. Cuba's capital also boasts a seven-mile stretch of sandy coastline - Playa del Este is set to the east of the city, just a 20-minute drive away.

Beach Holidays Music can be heard wherever you are in Havana. Evenings are spent sipping mojittos, visiting the theatre, enjoying cabaret bars, and dancing into the early hours at the nightclubs. Hemmingway's favourite haunts included the bars of La Bodeguita del Medio and El Floridita. New Year's Eve is not to be missed as Castro's troops march into the city to mark the occasion - although be sure and book accommodation way in advance.
