Arguineguin Holidays
Situated in the southwest of Gran Canaria, the resort of Arguineguin was until recently a small fishing village. Holidays in Arguineguin offer traditional Canarian charm with narrow streets, fine fish restaurants, beautiful countryside, and an original harbour. Even today Arguineguin remains more of a working fishing port rather than popular tourist spot, and as a result is relatively undeveloped.
Holidays in Arguineguin offer easy access to a range of good beaches. Visitors can bronze in the sandy coves, explore the old narrow streets, and relax over a coffee and watch the colourful fishing boats in the harbour. A picturesque coastal promenade runs from Arguineguin to Patalavaca and is perfect for romantic strolls. The resort offers a cluster of lively fishermen's bars and restaurants, which specialise in locally caught fish dishes.
Holidays in Arguineguin are known for the bustling weekly market selling souvenirs, local handicrafts, and fresh produce. Held every Tuesday, this is the busiest and biggest market on the island. The more adventurous visitors can hike over the mountain to the town of Puerto Rico. Alternatively, ferries leave for Puerto Rico and Puerto de Morgan from the harbour. Regular buses also run to neighbouring resorts and towns.
