Santa Ponsa Holidays
The picturesque resort of Santa Ponsa is situated on the south west coast of Majorca, 20km from Palma, the islands capital. Conquered in battle by King Jaime I in 1229, the island of Majorca was added to the Kingdom of Spain. Santa Ponsa is a laid back family resort, very popular with the British and Irish, hence the expanse of Irish bars. There is a huge selection of cafes and restaurants for all budgets serving a variety of cuisine including Mexican, Italian, South American and British. You'll be spoilt for choice, there's something to tempt everyone's taste buds. For after dinner entertainment there are an abundance of bars ranging from family run traditional pubs to livelier watering holes or if you're looking to party all night visit the neighbouring resort of Magalluf.
Santa Ponsa main attraction is it's extended, gently shelving sandy beach with lifeguard allowing children a safe place to play. With flag systems it's easy to tell when it's safe to swim in the sea with no strong currents. High season sees a huge number of tourists and locals flock to the beach to bask in the sun and try out the variety of water sports available.
From Santa Ponsa you can spend the day cruising the coastline capturing its natural beauty whilst cooling off in the sea. For something different why not spend the day diving, fishing or karting. Family days out are a must to the popular western waterpark near Magalluf. There's plenty of fun in the sun for all ages. If it's sightseeing you're after, hire a car and explore the towns of Valldemosa and Deya. These are beautiful spots and a favourite among celebrities, but beware the hairpin bends driving over the mountains. However you choose to spend your stay Santa Ponsa will remain a favourite.
